Thomas Edwards

I first came across the technical side of entertainment in High school where I joined the backstage crew. There I learnt the basics of lighting and helped with the many different shows that the school staged.

For my work experience in high school I worked for Wizard Lighting one of the companies that the school used to hire in extra equipment and for training. After work experience I was offered a position helping with the various shows that Wizard worked on. Over the next year learnt about how professional shows were designed, rigged and programmed. During this time I found a passion for Lighting Design and decided it was what I wanted to do as a career.

After my AS exams I was asked by Blinding Light to work for them to create some cables for an upcoming show. During this time I was exposed to a much larger scale lighting company as Wizard Lighting generally worked on smaller scale shows with mostly schools and dance troops. I was kept on to work full time in the warehouse over the summer and was keen to learn as much as possible in this time. Unfortunately I had to return to my studies in September and am currently working on-site where possible with Blinding Light.

Currently I am studying A levels in Maths, Physics and Electronics while continuing to try and get as much experience as possible within the industry.
